Henry L. Bowden Jr., a native of Atlanta, is a partner in the Bowden Spratt Law Firm, specializing in wills, trusts, estate planning, and estate administration. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia, he earned a JD degree in 1974 from Emory School of Law. He joined King & Spalding in 1975, becoming a partner there in 1982. In June 1995 he founded the Bowden Law Firm and continues his estate-planning practice.
Bowden has served as president of the Emory Law School Alumni Association and was an adjunct professor in the school’s graduate taxation program from 1982 to 1987. In addition, he chairs Emory’s Gift Planning Council, is a former member of the Board of Visitors, and is past vice president of the Association of Emory Alumni.
He was elected an Emory trustee in 1986.
