Bishop William T. McAlilly is the resident bishop of the Nashville Area, elected in July 2012. He has served in a wide variety of ministry settings in Georgia and Mississippi—from a small membership church in the Mississippi Delta to a new congregation in the suburbs of Memphis, to a newly organized congregation in Madison, Mississippi, to a large membership congregation in Tupelo.
In 2006 Bishop McAlilly was appointed to serve the Seashore District of the Mississippi Conference in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Bishop McAlilly was elected to the Emory University Board of Trustees in 2012 as a term trustee.
