mcclureTeri Plummer McClure is the company’s chief legal officer. In this role, she oversees all UPS ethics, compliance, and legal programs in more than 220 countries where the company does business.  Also, she leads UPS public affairs and government relations efforts advocating increased global trade, stronger business competitiveness, and improved economic growth worldwide, among many other public policies. McClure’s team supports UPS Chairman and CEO Scott Davis’ participation on the President’s Export Council. 

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, McClure received a bachelor's degree in marketing and economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and a juris doctorate degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta. McClure began her legal career in 1988 practicing labor and employment law for a private firm in Atlanta.  

McClure joined the UPS Corporate Legal Department in 1995. Since that time, she has been promoted into various legal and operations roles at UPS. She led establishment of UPS’ Core Counsel Network of outside attorneys. McClure became General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 2006. McClure is a member of the Management Committee, the company’s highest ranking group. In her role, she speaks frequently on the importance of ethics in business and on the opportunities for women in leadership. 

In addition to her corporate responsibilities, McClure is a member of various bar associations and serves on the board of the UPS Foundation, which distributed more than $49 million in grants in 2010. She is also on the board of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, started by UPS founder Jim Casey, which gives away about $150 million each year to help at risk children.  McClure is also on the boards of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. She has served as former co-chair of the Georgia Supreme Courts Committee on Civil Justice and in 2010 received the Equal Justice Works Scales of Justice Award for supporting lawyers in public service.
