Mitchell A. Tanzman was a founding partner and former co-chief executive officer and co-chief investment officer of Central Park Group prior to its acquisition by Macquarie Asset Management in 2022. Since then until the end of 2025, he was the co-head and then co-chair of Macquarie Wealth Solutions. Tanzman has more than 35 years of experience in alternative investments and has invested more than $15 billion in alternative investments, including more than $3.5 billion in private-equity funds.

Prior to founding Central Park Group, Tanzman served as co-head of UBS Financial Services' Alternative Investment Group and was a member of the firm's operating committee. Before UBS, he worked at Oppenheimer & Co. and ultimately co-managed the firm's alternative investment department. He was a member of the firm's Management Committee. Tanzman began his career at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as an attorney specializing in investment companies and advisory services.

He is a contributing author to the book Hedge Funds, edited by Lederman and Klein. Tanzman is a member of the investment committee overseeing the American Jewish Committee endowment. He is a graduate of Emory College and earned a JD from the University of Chicago Law School.

Tanzman's involvement at Emory dates back to his years as an undergraduate. He was managing editor and editor-in-chief of the Emory Wheel and a member of ODK, Mortar Board, and Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. Since graduating, Tanzman chaired the New York–area Annual Fund in 1997–1998 and was a member of the Emory Alumni Board.

He lives in New York City with his wife, Denise Berson Tanzman 81C, and their two children, one of whom graduated from Emory in 2018.

He was elected trustee in 2013.
