Based in Atlanta, Gregory J. Vaughn brings more than 25 years of experience to Spencer Stuart's health care practice. He focuses on the digital health, for-profit health services, and medical device sectors. Vaughn's extensive experience includes leadership positions in sales, marketing, business development, and general management as well as experience as CEO of a medical products company.

Before joining Spencer Stuart, Vaughn was CEO of the US subsidiary of Bauerfeind, a medical device and sports products company based in Germany. In this role, he led the transformation of the US business to a consumer-centric sales and marketing enterprise and launched a new sports products line.

Prior to this work, Vaughn spent nine years at Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions. He led two start-up entities, including FDA clearances and launch of two spinal products.

Before his medical device management roles, Vaughn was vice president of NDCHealth (now RelayHealth of McKesson), where he led the company’s pharmacy services business unit. He also worked as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, where he focused on organization and health care.

Vaughn earned a bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, in history from Emory and an MD from Harvard Medical School. He recently completed a five-year term of service on the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta board of directors, including three years as its governance committee chair, and currently serves on the boards of The Carter Center, Achieve Atlanta, and Carolina Crown, Inc.

He was elected trustee in 2014.
